It’s important for young Aussies to know how to swim. In fact, it’s vital for children to learn to swim as a survival skill, not just for the pool, but for rivers, lakes and the ocean. Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre’s (SGAC) swimming lessons are designed for all ages and abilities in a fun and safe environment. We focus on teaching efficient swimming techniques to equip children and aspiring athletes with a skill for life.

This program is an extension of our School Aged program. As your child progresses and masters various skills, they’ll eventually move on to this program. At this point, we believe that your child will have the confidence and ability of a competent swimmer. Through this program, we’ll prepare the swimmer for a more competitive environment to join our Squads.
Learning to swim is an essential life skill. Our program encourages all school-age swimmers to become water confident while achieving fundamental skills before progressing through each level, to ensure they are competent in all strokes, water safety, and survival.
Swimming can be exciting but it’s also an important life skill for children to have. Our Preschoolers program is a safe environment, where lessons will provide your toddler with a positive learning atmosphere. They’ll learn to familiarise themselves by participating, laughing enjoying the aquatic environment.
It may seem daunting at first but, for the most part, infants can start swimming very early on. In our Aqua Babies program, bubs as young as 6 months to 3 years old can participate.
