Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Customer Advice Update #2

SGAC West HQ continues to take every precaution to ensure the health and safety of its customers and workforce as the situation regarding COVID-19 continues to evolve.

The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (as at 13 March) has issued recommendations regarding public events and spaces, noting specifically:

  • limiting non-essential organised gatherings to fewer than 500 people
  • encouraging all Australians to exercise personal responsibility for social distancing measures
  • initiating measures to protect vulnerable populations, such as reducing visitors to all residential care facilities and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

West HQ has reviewed its normal (non-event) attendance records and can confirm that it does not hold more than 500 people within the normal course of day-to-day SGAC business.

Based on this information we will continue to operate our normal classes, whilst the following controls have been enhanced:

  1. All gymnastics students MUST sanitise their hands prior to commencing class
  2. West HQ has introduced digital communications to reinforce safe hygiene practices
  3. Classes have been modified, where possible, to minimise body to body contact
  4. Increased touch point sanitising by our on-site cleaning staff for all common areas including change rooms and equipment
  5. At SGAC, no parent, family member or non-essential person can enter the ground floor gymnastics environment as per our standard terms and conditions
  6. Where possible, families should limit the number of spectators attending the facility
  7. Follow all guidelines as issued by NSW Health.
